$ 1.5 billion lawsuit against Yukos over the largest foreign investment in Polish history

We represented Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN S.A. in an international arbitration proceeding in London under ICC rules in connection with the acquisition of the Mazeikiu refinery in Lithuania. The dispute concerned the breach of declarations and assurances in connection with the cut-off of oil supplies due to the alleged failure of the pipeline, a fire that broke out shortly before the signing of the contract, shutting down the plant for many months, and the technical condition of the refinery. We have also advised in related proceedings – including ad-hoc insurance arbitration in Vilnius and arbitration for general contracting.
